Next Class A CDL Class Set for July 6, 2017!

If you’ve been hoping for an opportunity to obtain your Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL), you’ll want to find out more about the course that Northeast Community College will offer at RTEC beginning July 6, 2017.

This 56-hour training course includes 16 hours of  classroom instruction and 40 hours of driving time with the instructor. The classroom or theory portion will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 6 & 7, 2017, at RTEC in Yankton. The driving portion, conducted in Norfolk, NE, will take place during the week of July 31 – Aug. 4, 2017.

Students who successfully complete an entire course will earn a Class A CDL ready for the workforce. Instruction includes everything you need to know to pass the license exam, pre-trip inspection and practical driving test.

A drug screen is required as part of the class and its cost is included in the fees. Costs for a DOT physical, necessary for some students, are not included. Students should be at least 21 years of age prior to the class start.

Contact RTEC at (605) 668-5700 or stop in at 1200 W. 21st St. in Yankton and pick up the appropriate paperwork. Cost of the course, which reflects a slight increase effective July 1, 2017, will be $1,045 plus tax.

Note: Mitchell Technical Institute also offers Class A CDL Training courses at RTEC. No dates are currently scheduled, but please contact RTEC if you would like to learn more about their class option.
