Our History
What began as a satellite campus for Southeast Technical Institute quickly developed into a unique customized-training center, RTEC was born and formed as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in 2004.
In 2005 -2006, RTEC had received a $50,000 startup grant from South Dakota’s Future Fund and a $60,000 grant from the Alcoa foundation. At that time the Regional Technical Education Center (RTEC) started the first of many training programs and has since responded to local training needs by partnering with Northeast Community College, Mitchell Technical Institute, the South Dakota Department of Labor and Regulation as well as local businesses in and around the area.
As of today, RTEC is moving forward at a rapid pace under the guidance of Denise Kneifl. For more information on what RTEC has to offer you, please call (605) 668-5700!
RTEC is an American Welding Society Accredited Testing Facility (AWS ATF)
