Bring your skills up to Industry Standard and prepare for the American Welding Society test, to become certified through the American Welding Society (AWS) through this 6-7 week, 48-hour skills upgrade welding course
The primary welding processes in this advanced program are wire welding (GMAW) and stick welding (SMAW). Upon successful completion of this course, you will have an opportunity to earn AWS Certification stating that you have become an AWS certified welder.

First Step: If you plan on applying for the American Welding Society Scholarship you’ll want to get that process started right away (click the button below). Then register for the Welding Upgrade course you want to take (follow the link at the bottom of this page, to register for RTEC’s Welding Upgrade course).
Next Step: Following the completion of the Welding Upgrade Course, you will be eligible to test for your American Welding Society (AWS) certification. The class will culminate with a 1G Certification Plate Test.
Advanced Welding Session Dates
Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 4:00-8:00 PM

Cost
$2,100 plus applicable tax.
This includes 1 (one) American Welding Society certification test.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kit is NOT included in the cost of the Advanced Welding Class. If needed, there will be an added charge of $200 plus applicable tax in addition to the cost of the course.
Requirements
You must have previous welding experience or have taken RTEC’s Basic Welding course before enrolling in this course.
If you have not taken RTEC’s Basic Welding course, Instructor Approval will be necessary.
RTEC welding classes are taught by AWS Certified Instructors, with Certified Welding
Inspector and Certified Welding Educator credentials.
